What is Periodontology?

Periodontists spend at least 3 extra years in school to receive extensive training in periodontal disease, dental implants, and other specialty surgeries. We often treat more complex cases like missing teeth, gum disease, or a complex medical history. Many periodontal issues can be managed by your general dentist, but some treatments may necessitate a greater understanding and increased level of expertise by a trained specialist. We work in partnership with you and your dentist to provide the optimal treatment plan.

Dr. Dacy has conducted award winning research and led numerous dental organizations. He runs six generations deep in Boerne and loves living on his farm with his wife and 3 daughters.

Dr. Mitchell Ponsford

DMD, MS

Dr. Ponsford graduated suma cum laude with multiple awards and is a leader in the local dental community. He also loves piloting planes and exploring the Hill Country with his wife and 2 sons.
